Trevor Bauer’s Fastball – Indians stud right-hander Trevor Bauer got himself out of a jam with this wicked 3-2 two-seam fastball that hugged the outside corner of the plate, exasperating Royals catcher Drew Butera.
Jose Berrios’ Curveballs – Berrios was lit up by the Mariners on Saturday, but you couldn’t tell based on the way his curveball was slinging through the strike zone. Hard to pick just one, so here’s a nice collection from Saturday for you all to enjoy.
Tyler Glasnow’s Curveball – A move to the bullpen has been huge for Glasnow, as he has now struck out eight in six innings. That included striking out Adam Duvall with this yo-yo curveball that dove right out of the strike zone. Nasty.
Joe Jimenez’s Changeup – Jimenez was a highly touted relief pitcher prospect thanks to his blazing fastball, but used a wicked changeup to retire Nicky Delmonico. He will reach his ceiling as a future closer with stuff like that.
Chaz Roe’s Slider – If a human were ever inside a tornado, I imagine this pitch is what it would look like in there. Straight filth from Chaz Roe.
Gerrit Cole’s slider – Armed with a 98 mile per hour fastball and this wicked sharp breaking ball, Cole has continued to carve hitters up in his new home in Houston.
