Top 100 Relievers to Own in Save+Hold Leagues: 8/31 Update

Rick Graham's weekly update of the Top 100 Relievers to own in SV+HLDs leagues.

[sv_hlds_list list_id=”24818″ include_stats=”1″ season=”2018″]

Following up on our weekly Closers and Holds articles will be our Top 100 RP’s for SV+HD leagues every Friday. Use this list to get a feel for the current reliever market and to gauge value for trades, waiver adds, etc. Keep in mind, holds are much more volatile and harder to predict. We’ve only seen one season from a pitcher with more than 30 holds since 2016, while 26 closers have gone over 30 saves in that same timeframe.

NOTES

  • We welcome back Joakim Soria, Hector Neris, Greg Holland, Jose Castillo, Andrew Chafin and Ryan Madson to the list, as well as newcomers Jesse Biddle and Jesse Chavez and Trevor May. Falling off the list we have Andrew Miller, Corey Knebel, Brandon Kintzler, Diego Castillo, Amir Garrett, James Pazos, Luis Avilan, Koda Glover and Heath Hembree.
  • Jace Fry was the only reliever with 4 SV+HD’s this week, while only two other relievers had 3 (Mark Melancon and Andrew Chafin). Fry had two holds and two saves but should be considered the favorite for saves for the White Sox from here on out.

R Inglesias at #15 is just wrong. He has 3 SV+H over the past month with a 4+ ERA. Reds aren’t getting the chances and there are plenty of other arms for contenders that will get those chances. J Hicks at 37 is preferred. And how Hicks is below CMart is extra for sure.
And thank you for FINALLY raising Colome. He has been awesome all year.

Why did Dakota hudson fall so much?
