Notes

  • We have six new additions this week, which include Nick Goody, Hunter Strickland, Adam Kolarek, Fernando Rodney, Richard Rodriguez, and Jared Hughes. Goody has been fantastic for the Indians since being recalled in June and now has five holds over the past month. He looks to be in 2017 form after he struggled with injuries last season. Strickland is expected back next Tuesday and is worth a stash for those in deeper leagues but nothing to get too excited over.
  • Leaving the list are Shawn Kelley, Blake Parker, Trey Wingenter, Carl Edwards, Roenis Elias, and Kyle Crick. Kelley is dealing with a bicep injury and is likely only worth holding if you have an extra IL spot. Parker was somewhat surprisingly DFA’d the other day despite having an ERA in the low 4s. Wingenter was sent down this week after posting a 7.04 ERA in July but should be back later in the year.
  • We had a total of seven relievers pick up three SV+HDs this past week: Josh Hader, Sean Doolittle, Ian Kennedy, Andrew Miller, Jake Diekman, Wander Suero, and Fernando Rodney. Rodney’s three came with the typical Rodney theatrics, as he finished the week with a 5.80 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. He certainly seems to be in the mix for saves and holds with his eight this past month, ranking second in all of baseball. So if you are desperate for those SV+HDs, he may be worth chasing. Just be prepared to take a hit in ERA and WHIP if you go that route.
