Top 100 Relievers for Save+Hold Leagues: 4/19 Update
- New additions this week include Ryan Tepera, Adam Morgan, Kyle Crick, Junior Guerra, Connor Sadzeck, Roenis Elias, Nick Anderson, Caleb Ferguson, Nick Burdi, Ian Kennedy, and Nick Wittgren. Tepera and Crick join the middle of the list after being reinstated from the IL earlier in the week, while Morgan makes the big jump as one of the consistent hold options in the Phillies bullpen.
- Leaving the list are Dellin Betances, David Robertson, Arodys Vizcaino, Justin Miller, Brad Brach, Tyler Olson, Chad Sobotka, Tyler Thornburg, Ryan Buchter, Juan Nicasio and Josh James. The first four names are all facing lengthy IL stints and while Betances and Robertson are fine to stash if you have empty IL spots, they are not must-holds in most leagues. The last six names have struggled to have any value this year, though I’m still interested in James if he gets starts later this year.
- Joe Biagini was the weekly leader in saves+holds with a total of four (three holds, one save), plus he added a win and five strikeouts. It’s great to see Biagini find a role for himself where he can succeed, so hopefully the Jays will continue to utilize him as Ken Giles’ handcuff/setup man, even with Ryan Tepera returning yesterday.
