It’s Friday, y’all. Congrats on making it to the end of the week. I know I’m ready for the weekend; I’m sure you are too.
We are getting down to the wire here in the regular season, with just under three weeks to go. In fact, three weeks from Thursday is the beginning of the American League Division Series (provided we don’t have a tie for the Wild Card spots). I’m very excited for the playoffs, of course, but after last year’s shortened season, I’m very excited to watch real races for division titles and Wild Card spots instead of teams with the same record jostling for eight different playoff spots.
At any rate, don’t forget to enjoy the baseball you do watch. Now, let’s get to the good stuff:

No further explanation required. That is awesome.
A Bit of a Hairy Situation
What kind of shenanigans are going on here, A’s? Why are we checking Sean Manaea‘s hair?

Maybe — as the caption says — they’re looking for a gray hair, although I’m not sold. If they were, though, this is how I could imagine the conversation going:
“Yeah, Sean, this one is from when the bullpen blew a lead. And, this one is from the 2019 Wild Card Game. Oh, yeah, there’s a bunch more…”
Mike Wright? More like Mike Wrong
Mike Wright Jr. was called upon for mop-up duty in yesterday’s Angels/White Sox affair. All he needed to do was get some outs to keep the game moving. Unfortunately, Mr. Wright could not find his grip on the ball yesterday:
White Sox reliever Mike Wright Jr. was ejected in the 9th inning after hitting Shohei Ohtani with a pitch.
Tony La Russa was also ejected soon after.

I’m going to choose to believe that Wright was ejected because the Ohtani Health and Safety Administration stepped in to prevent the MVP from getting hurt. On the other hand, Wright simply could not find the strike zone or even locate a pitch, which is a little funny on its own. And, Tony La Russa’s reaction to the ejection (ripping the bullpen phone out) was really something special.
Austin Adams had better not run into this umpire, though. He’ll be ejected so quickly Jayce Tingler might as well warm up another guy, too.
Wholesome Post Alert
The next generation of baseball fans are going to be something special.

It just warms your heart to see this kind of stuff.
Now, go enjoy your weekend and watch some baseball, too!
