Diego Castillo’s Fastball

Diego Castillo must have seen all the attention teammate Jose Alvarado was getting on social media for his devastating fastball because tonight he broke out a heater as dirty as anything Alvarado’s thrown. Justin Smoak didn’t even try to hit this one, which is probably for the best, though it would have at least been entertaining.

Brad Keller’s Slider

Brad Keller has excelled thus far in his sophomore season, and it’s not too hard to see why. I’m not sure which dropped faster here: Keller’s slider or Tyler Naquin’s fantasy ownership.

Lucas Giolito’s Changeup

So this is why optimism in Lucas Giolito fulfilling his prospect pedigree has persisted.  This season has largely been a mixed bag for the 24-year-old righty, but when he’s on he’s a cold-blooded batter killer.

Note: Big thanks to our own Stephen Dudas (@QBListD on Twitter) for the tip on this pitch!

Jake Arrieta’s Changeup

Does anything say filth quite like dropping a batter to their knees? Sorry Starlin, but Jake Arrieta’s already taken.

Seunghwan Oh’s Changeup

Crazy: How quickly the bottom drops off of this pitch.

Really Crazy: This game lasted 11 more innings after this point.

Excellent performances from their bullpen, like the one Seunghwan Oh gave them was largely what kept this one tied up until the wee hours of the morning.
