What’s up everybody! We’ve got just one FantasyDraft slate for us on this Friday, but with thirteen different games within the slate, we’ve got tons of lineups to create. Contests start at 7 pm EST, so get your lineups set before then.

Must Play SP: Kenta Maeda, LAD ($19,800) vs ARI

The Dodgers are weird and annoying about how they run their rotation (at least for fantasy purposes) so Maeda only has one start this season. In that start, he absolutely shredded the Giants, striking out 10 in five innings with no runs allowed. He’s coming off of a solid 2017 campaign where he posted a 25.1% K-rate with a 3.89 Deserved Run Average and facing a Diamondbacks lineup that isn’t as good as you might think. The DBacks had just a .304 wOBA on the road last season – they’re not nearly as good on the road – and Dodger Stadium is a pitcher-friendly park. If anything, their lineup has only gotten worse since last year, as they don’t have J.D. Martinez or Jake Lamb. This probably isn’t obvious for most fantasy players, which makes Maeda a savvy contrarian play.

Honorable Mention: Gerrit Cole, HOU ($22,900) vs TEX

Value SP: Steven Matz, NYM ($13,700) vs MIL

It feels like Matz’s last start went completely under the radar. He struck out eight and walked none over five innings with no earned runs against a very tough Nationals lineup. If he can do that against the Nats, he should be able to handle the Brewers at home. Matz is worth looking at in GPP formats, where his high ceiling and low price can pay off. In cash games, you may want to look elsewhere, as Matz still has a hefty amount of risk tied to him.

Honorable Mention: Eduardo Rodriguez, BOS ($16,400) vs BAL

IF Anthony Rendon, WAS ($8,600) vs COL (LHP Kyle Freeland)

Rendon feasts on left-handed pitching, as evidenced by the monster 186 wRC+ he posted against lefties last season. Rockies starter Kyle Freeland has gotten lit up in his first two starts this season, as he’s got a 5.56 ERA entering Friday’s matchup. He’s doesn’t only have bad numbers because of Coors, either. Freeland posted an awful 5.38 FIP on the road last season, and he’s particularly bad against righties, putting up a 12.2% K-rate with a 10.3% walk-rate versus RHB in 2017. Rendon’s got a recipe for success out of the Nationals two-hole.

Honorable Mention: IF Dee Gordon, SEA ($7,700) vs OAK (Triggs)

OF Andrew Benintendi, BOS ($7,400) vs BAL (RHP Chris Tillman)

Chris Tillman alert! Ring the DFS bells! Any time Chris Tillman and his 8.68 ERA is on the mound, your first instinct should be to get as many opposing hitters as you can into your lineups. While Benintendi is off to a slow start, there’s no reason his price should already be so low. He’s coming off of a 20/20 season and batting second in a stacked Red Sox lineup, which should give him plenty of chances at runs and RBIs. It also helps that he’s at home in Fenway Park, one of the best hitter’s parks in all of baseball.

Honorable Mention: OF Michael Brantley, CLE ($7,200) vs TOR (Stroman)

Value: OF Andrew McCutchen, SF ($7,500) at SD (RHP Tyson Ross)

McCutchen has been on fire in the last week, posting a .346 batting average with a .916 OPS and two steals. He should add to those totals against Padres starter Tyson Ross, who has a 5.25 ERA through his first two starts. Only the Padres are desperate enough to roll with Ross, so McCutchen is a valuable play as he bats third in the Giants lineup.

Honorable Mention: IF Albert Pujols, LAA ($7,700) at KC (Hammel)

Top Stack: Angels at Royals (RHP Jason Hammel)

I’m digging the Angels on Friday against Royals starter Jason Hammel, who has a 4.09 ERA this season with five walks to just eight strikeouts in eleven innings. Any time you can get Mike Trout ($10,400) in your lineup, you should absolutely do it, but Zack Cozart ($9,300) and Justin Upton ($9,100) are well worth their prices as well. I also love Kole Calhoun ($5,600) as a value play.

Honorable Mention: Red Sox vs Baltimore (Tillman)
