The changeup is not a pitch Brewer is most comfortable with as he threw it only twice in 2019. This may change in 2020 as he works this off season.
Brewer throws his curve the most at 45% of the time. This pitch has a big hook and a ton of movement getting swinging strikes 14.7% of the time and striking out hitters 36.4% of the time.
Brewer threw the fastball only a few times and it resulted in three singles. Not much else to say other than it has slightly more giddy-up than his cutter.
Brewer had his first full season in the bigs with the Red Sox in 2019 throwing mostly cutters and curves. The cutter sat at 93 mph but was a bit too wild walking 14%. Overall, he struggled with the pitch allowing a lot of good contact resulting in an .866 OPS against.
Brewer’s third pitch is his 88 mph slider which he throws much less than his other two main pitches. He got somewhat similar results with it to his curve.
