Injury Report – 6/10

Jeff Davis provides an update in today's edition of the Injury Report.

Hello and welcome to the Injury Report!

This roundup is a biweekly article, published on Mondays and Fridays, where I aim to detail approximately five relevant injuries that have occurred over the past few days or provide an update on the injury of a prominent MLB player. I will try to incorporate the available information as well as my own knowledge and experience to approximate a return date in each case, noting the individual characteristics of the injuries and of the players themselves.

If you have questions regarding an injury not detailed in this article, feel free to comment below, and I will give my best effort to provide a timely update.

Domingo German – Left Hip Flexor Strain

Domingo German hit the IL with a left hip flexor strain. The transaction was made retroactive to June 8th. German reports to have battled this injury during his last three starts. He will undergo an MRI today which will inform his timetable.

Estimated return: This feels like a 2-4 week absence, but an MRI will let us know if there is any structural damage.

Robinson Cano – Left Quad Strain

Robinson Cano  is heading for a rehab assignment and sounds as though he will be able to return when first able on June 16th.

Estimated return: Roughly June 16th.

Austin Hedges – Ankle Injury

Austin Hedges missed two starts this weekend due to an ankle injury. Expect an update today. Hedges may be able to return on Tuesday if this is a minor injury.

Estimated return: Middle of this week.

Tyler Glasnow – Right Forearm Strain

Tyler Glasnow has extended his throwing program to 75 ft at an unknown intensity. He continues to trend toward a return after the All-Star Break.

Estimated return: Mid-to-late July.

Trevor Cahill – Right Elbow Soreness

Trevor Cahill his the IL with right elbow soreness. The Angels are hopeful that they caught this injury early. No official timetable has been released, but this feels like more than a one start absence. This is likely a different concern than the right elbow impingement that resulted in a DL stint last year. No MRI results are reported at this time.

Estimated return: Late-June.
