- Arodys Vizcaino has finally been placed on the IL as he continues to deal with ongoing shoulder problems. This should mean it’s A.J. Minter time for the foreseeable future, if not the season. Minter’s numbers have been pretty pedestrian to begin the season, but he too is coming off injury issues of his own and should continue to get stronger the more he pitches.
- At this point, I think it’s time to officially anoint Ryan Brasier as the Red Sox closer. After Matt Barnes earned the first save of the season, Brasier has earned the past 3 and given the success the two are having right now, there’s no reason for Alex Cora to change a thing.
- Even with David Robertson hitting the IL with a sore elbow today (hopefully nothing serious), I still don’t think I want any of the Phillies relievers in 10 or even shallow 12 teamers. It really seems as if Kapler wants to just rotate save chances with every member of that bullpen before actually letting a reliever run with the role. Seranthony Dominguez still doesn’t have a save and only has two holds, but he could be the biggest beneficiary for saves/holds with Robertson out.

Wouldn’t Taylor Rogers be next in line for the Twins? He’s been pretty regularly getting the 8th inning. Hildenberger grabbed a save cleaning up Parker’s mess, but seems pretty clear Rogers is ahead of him on the depth chart. Hildenberger is off to a solid start though.
I think Rogers is the guy if the opposing team has 3 lefties due up in the 9th. He seems more likely to be used as a specialist. I could be wrong, its too early to get a feel for how Baldelli plans on using his bullpen.
Minter might just be a TAD high here…
Where would you rank Jeffries when he comes back, assuming Kimbrel signs elsewhere?
