Every morning we review the five nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Week. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Chris Archer’s Slider – Archer was handed the difficult task of facing the terrifying Blue Jays’ lineup, and while he left with the loss, he took 12 strikeouts with him.  His Slider was just as stellar as we remembered it, getting the reigning AL MVP to go fishing out of the zone. (Thanks to @Joey__Picks for the tip!)

Francisco Liriano’s Changeup – It was nothing new for Liriano as he fanned 10 batters while walking 5 en route to a dominating performance against the Cardinals.  He was getting tons of movement on all of his pitches, including this Changeup that Randall Grichuk doesn’t come close to touching.

Edinson Volquez’s Fastball – As we watched a rematch of the 2015 World Series, Volquez was given the task to represent the the former champs on opening night and he cruised through the Mets’ sluggers.  He sent Travis D’Arnaud back to the dugout with this heavy heater on the outside corner that featured excellent ride back to the plate.

Wade Davis‘ Curveball – It wasn’t as pretty as we’ve come to expect from Davis, but he was able to effectively close the door to seal a Royals victory last night.  In the final at-bat, he made Yoenis Cespedes’ knees buckle with this heavy 0-1 hook.

Marcus Stroman’s Fastball – Boy did Stroman look fantastic last night on the hill, strolling through innings as his Fastball generated groundball after groundball.  We got a great look at his movement and command from the first batter of the game, striking out Logan Forsythe with this perfectly placed heater.
