Zack Godley’s Fastball – If there’s one thing you should know about Godley, it’s how much movement his Fastball gets. Watch the pitch zoom from the outside corner off the plenty in a blink of an eye to Asdrubal Cabrera, with the perfect slow-motion shot to show its absurd late bite.
Drew Pomeranz’s Curveball – Pomeranz is holding an impressive 9.60 K/9 over the season and watching this Curveball should explain it all. Check out the crazy amount of depth he gets on the pitch as it finds its way under Yandy Diaz’s bat.
Luke Weaver’s Fastball – Weaver was absolutely dominant against the Padres, fanning 10 and preventing a single run from crossing the plate. He’s taken full of advantage of his new spot in the rotation and we’re happy to see it if he can keep painting the corner with his Fastball. It’s hypnotizing to watch.
Mike Montgomery’s Curveball – Taking the place of Jon Lester in the rotation, Monty pitched a Quality Start against the Reds Wednesday evening. He even made Joey Votto look foolish in the box as he tossed this beautiful front-door Curveball in the sixth.
Chris Flexen’s Fastball – Don’t expect Flexen to make plenty of appearances in these roundups, but he definitely deserved a spot after getting plenty of ride on this Fastball to Chris Iannetta. We didn’t get the luscious Mets’ broadcast replay, but Arizona gave us a solid look at the pitch’s late ride across the inside corner.
