Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Congrats to Chaz Roe’s Slider for winning Nastiest Pitching GIF of the Week! Roe barely edged Jakob Junis‘ Slider and gets a chance to be a repeat-winner in the future GIF tournament.

Zach Britton’s Fastball – You’re well aware that Britton has a fantastic One-Seam Fastball, but you’re still going to watch this GIF and love it. Let’s be real, 97mph with that drop? Absurd.

David Price’s Cutter – After a long time on the DL, Price returned to the Red Sox albeit out of the bullpen. He did his job against the Rays and earned a strikeout with his signature pitch to right-handers: a backdoor Cutter. Time to get used to this pitch again, Evan Longoria.

Corey Kluber’s Fastballs – Sit back and enjoy one of the best pitchers in baseball do his thing with a Fastball that moves across the entire plate…twice. We simply couldn’t choose one and felt both deserved your love.

Chaz Roe’s Slider – He won last week’s “Best Pitch” and he’s already putting in another contender with this Slider that has way more bend than it has any right to have. You can’t lay off this pitch, but you sure can’t hit it either.

Chris Sale’s Fastball + Slider – Sale did good work against the Rays over the weekend and made a pair of pitches that define him as an elite talent. First he puts Kevin Kerimaier into the dirt with an inside heater, then surprised Evan Longoria with a Slider that curled its way back to the outside corner. Both of these weapons make Sale what he is today.

Stephen Strasburg’s Curveball – While his scoreless streak came to end, Strasburg pitched a gem against the Dodgers, limiting them to one earned run while pitching on National TV. Plenty of offerings deserved a spot in today’s roundup, though we wanted to showcase his massive Curveball that was located so perfectly just under the zone to Corey Seager.

Craig Kimbrel’s Fastball – We know there is no such thing as a rising Fastball, but Kimbrel’s heater comes as close as you’ll get, making it so tough for…once again…Evan Longoria to make contact. He had a tough weekend.

    poor poor Evan Longoria

  2. Chest Rockwell says:

How is that Sale fastball only 92 mph??? Looked more like 102, though I know he doesn’t throw THAT hard.

First time I’ve ever voted for a slider – that Chaz Roe pitch is just silly.
