Yonny Chirinos’s Two-seam Fastball

Yonny Chirinos pitched 5 no-hit innings using the great movement on his pitches to mow down the Blue Jays. Freddy Galvis was left frozen by this two-seamer that just comes back to the inside black.

Gerrit Cole’s Fastball

Gerrit Cole struck out 12 Cubs yesterday in a sterling outing, primarily using his fastball to overpower and finish off hitters. Daniel Descalso couldn’t catch up this heater up in the zone.

Dillon Maples’s Curveball

Dillon Maples is best known for his plus slider and for often not knowing where the ball is going. Maples had enough control yesterday to let his breaking pitches take over. Maples rarely throws a curveball, but this one to Derek Fisher is impressive.

Blake Treinen’s Sinker

Blake Treinen went mano y mano against Mike Trout last night and proved that great pitching often beats great hitting. Trout thought he was getting a fastball down in his happy zone, but the pitch kept moving down and in and missed Trout’s bat.

Adam Ottavino’s Slider

Adam Ottavino may just be the most GIF-able pitcher in the impressive Yankees bullpen. This slider to Hunter Renfroe moved swiftly out of the zone and away from his bat.

Zack Greinke’s Curveball

Zack Greinke has transitioned into the wily veteran part of his career beautifully. Greinke used his mix of speeds and locations to retire the Rockies yesterday including this slow 69 mph curveball to Ryan McMahon. Nice.

Max Scherzer’s Changeup

Max Scherzer would probably end up in Nastiest Pitches more often if leg kick didn’t come up and block the view of his pristine pitching. This changeup to Curtis Granderson is impressive, but it’d be awesome to see the whole flight of the pitch.

Hey, I left a comment a few weeks ago but just in case you missed it, the gifs this year have been “glitchy”/skittish, if that makes sense. Not smooth. I’ve noticed it for most of the year. Is this not the case for anyone else? I mentioned last time, I’m seeing it across different browsers, computers, etc., on all of which I’m watching all kinds of video clips, highlights, streaming movies, etc, without issues… Love everything about this site so just letting y’all know!
