Welcome to Pitcher List 4.0!

Welcome to Pitcher List 4.0!

Every year, the Pitcher List staff works hard through the offseason to bring an exciting update to the site. This year, we have plenty to show you today and even more to show you in the upcoming months.

Watch this video to see what’s new in 4.0:

– Pitcher GIF Database Update

  • Over 2,800 GIFs made, over 2,800 pitch descriptions written
  • “Fastball” has now been split into four-seamer and two-seamer/sinker for pitchers that feature both. Over 20% GIFs added as a result!

– Player Pages have been revamped

  • Hitter pages added
  • Related Articles added
  • VPR and xStats updated
  • SP Roundup, Batter’s Box and Nastiest GIF archives prepared for the regular season
  • Team Pages sorted by current roles
  • Will be updated through the regular season as players make debuts

– Massive staff

  • We more than doubled our staff, adding a full editing team and expanding our coverage
  • 2019 is the season of MORE EVERYTHING.

– New dedicated sections to the site

  • Dynasty and DFS sections with daily and weekly content
  • A new entertainment section called Anti-List. Think a mix of Cut4 and NotGraphs where we have fun talking about baseball, like our Fictional Players draft this offseason
  • Across The Seams, where our writers have the freedom to discuss the game of baseball removed from the sabermetrics and GIFs of our Going Deep section.

– Improved Patreon Rewards

$10 Discord tier now includes:

  • Discord Access
  • 10% off all Merch
  • Copy of our Podcast Notes
  • Exclusive Livestream Q&A
  • Community Fantasy Leagues

– Coming soon

  • A PITCHER LIST MOBILE APP
    • Get notifications for your favorite regular articles and authors the moment they are live.
    • Arriving in early March
    • Mobile GIF Database to be added this season
  • Leaderboards for VPR
    • Team VPR featured as well (xVPR vs actual VPR!)
  • Daily and weekly Newsletter
  • Tooltips for Glossary terms on desktop

It’s been a long off-season making these improvements to the site and we’re incredibly excited to continue making Pitcher List better this season and beyond. Enjoy the launch and I’ll see you on the site.

Nate

I remember when y’all had a broken server because you suddenly got hit with a ton of traffic because your pitching gifs were suddenly being posted because no one else had that.

Pitcher List is a national treasure. Thank you.

Nate

*oh yeah, @pitchergifs, that’s right, that’s where I got hooked.

Shane Ryan’s pitchcraft articles in Grantlant (rip) are what turned me on to all this. Thought you’d like to know.
