Tyler Duffey’s Curveball

Tyler Duffey came on to finish off a shutout for the Twins, who are amazingly at the top of the American League as of this morning. Duffey’s outing was impressive as all six of his outs yesterday were strikeouts, including this disgusting curve that fooled Yonder Alonso.
Zack Wheeler’s Curveball

Zack Wheeler looked uneasy at the beginning of yesterday’s rubber match against the Tigers. However, after giving up three runs in the first three innings, Wheeler settled down, earning himself a total of eight strikeouts over 7.1 innings, the nastiest one of those being this curveball that put an end to the sixth inning.
Jake Odorizzi’s Fastball

Jake Odorizzi has been a pleasant surprise so far this season. The 29-year-old is having the best year of his career, and he owes it to an elite fastball (9.1 pVAL) which can be seen above as it runs by Charles Tilson’s bat for the first of Odorizzi’s nine strikeouts.
German Marquez’s Curveball

Unfortunately, the final line will not do justice to German Marquez’s performance yesterday. The Rockies ace was pitching solidly until he let up a few bad hits in the top of the seventh inning. GIFed above is the final out he made, a front-door curveball that froze Keon Broxton.
Joakim Soria’s Curveball

It’s safe to say that Tim Beckham never stood a chance on this pitch. Joakim Soria threw this one right by Beckham for the first out of a perfect ninth inning that would seal a 7-1 victory for the Oakland Athletics.
Tanner Roark’s Curveball

Tanner Roark was on his A game yesterday, striking out nine Cubs over the course of five innings. Roark had his whole arsenal working for him, but no pitch was as filthy as the curveball above, a disgusting breaking ball that absolutely fooled Kris Bryant.
