- New additions this week include Luke Jackson, Julio Urias, Ross Stripling, Justin Miller, Brandon Kintzler, Andrew Chafin, Tommy Kahnle, Giovanny Gallegos, Brandon Workman, Cam Bedrosian, and Trevor Gott. Kahnle is finally back in MLB taking the place of Chad Green, while Gallegos is yet another impressive weapon in the Cardinals bullpen (his 17.2% swinging-strike rate ranks 15th among all relievers).
- Leaving the list are Jeurys Familia, Cody Allen, Ryne Stanek, Adam Conley, Tayron Guerrero, Jake Newberry, J.B. Wendelken, Oliver Perez, Buck Farmer, Brady Wieck, and Alex Claudio. Familia and Allen wound up on the IL this past week, while Stanek hasn’t been used in a setup role since Emilio Pagan’s call up.
- Diego Castillo was the weekly leader in saves+holds with four, while Andrew Miller, John Gant, Jordan Hicks, and Brandon Workman had three apiece. While it seems like the Rays are going to go without set roles at the back of their bullpen, Castillo is locked into at least some sort of setup role and should see plenty of saves/holds this season.
As far as saves and ratio’s are concerned (no Holds), would you rather have Buttrey or Shawn Kelly at this point?
Poor Nick Anderson. He has better stuff than anyone in the top 10, just on the wrong team.
How difficult is it to list the team next to the players name? Would be helpful on all of your lists, especially when you get past the obvious names at the top of the list (also helpful for NL/AL only leagues).

What in the hell is going on in TB? Is Castillo in front for saves or do you think they are just dead-set on alternating the role.
I was watching F Vazquez the other day when he was getting roughed up and his FB velo was heading straight down as he was getting hammered and he eventually stopped throwing FB and went 100% SL. I don’t know what the long-term looks like, but it looked like a potential problem.
