Notes
- New additions this week include Chris Martin, Carl Edwards Jr., Dan Winkler, Jake Diekman, Yoan Lopez, Alex Claudio, and Justin Anderson. With Shawn Kelley hitting the IL and Jose Leclerc having another meltdown last night, Martin should be the favorite for saves, at least until Kelley returns.
- Leaving the list are Pedro Strop, Shawn Kelley, Keone Kela, Drew Steckenrider, Anthony Swarzak, Adam Conley and Joe Kelly. The first four were placed on the IL this past week and are only worth holding onto if you’re in a deep league with IL spots. The last three had some hype at some point near the beginning of the season, but all three have been more or less disasters on the mound.
- Aroldis Chapman, Adam Ottavino, Josh Hader and T.J. McFarland were the weekly leaders in saves+holds with three each. McFarland saw his first two innings of the season this past week, picking up a hold in each game in which he pitched. He’s off the radar for now as he holds a career 1.46 WHIP, 5.43 K/9, and 7.6% swinging-strike rate, while the three holds are already his highest season total since 2015.
Just checking about Wingenter. He’s on the IL as well and wasn’t dropped or removed from either this or the Holds list. Any knowledge of his status?
Ahh I missed that. I wouldn’t hold on to him at this point then. I’m going to take him and the soon to be demoted Minter of the list.
Moronta playing great and could get saves when/if Smith gets dealt.
If saves and holds are equal, and keeping in mind opportunities, would you drop Andrew Miller and pickup Moronta?
Where will Carlos Martinez rank once he comes off the DL?

Stammen 5.25 ERA last 30, 1.33 WHIP, only 3 SVHD, 6.75 K/9. Pretty meh, yet he climbs this list? Weird.
Thanks for all the great work, Rick! Mining for holds+saves as well as potential/upside in a deep league…would you drop Barraclough, Soria, Familia, Crick, Chris Martin, or Scott Barlow in order to pick up Andrew Miller?
Also, who do you like as the handcuff for Iglesias in CIN?
