Welcome to The List – The weekly top 100 rankings of starting pitchers in fantasy baseball for the rest of the season. Use this list to help make choices on the waiver wire and as a tool to gauge trade value in your fantasy leagues. These rankings are made with 5×5 H2H standard 12-team leagues in mind.

Let’s talk about how the SP landscape has changed since last week:

• Here are this week’s relevant injuries: Stephen Strasburg’s timetable is still super confusing and take his spot with a grain of salt, Lance McCullers is out until September, while Carlos Martinez may not start again this season and return out of the pen. Then there’s CC Sabathia out for possibly just one start, Tyler Skaggs‘ DL situation well up in the air, and the trio of Yu Darvish, Michael Fulmer, and Eduardo Rodriguez are still off The List completely as their timetables are questionable and they are not Top 20 assets.
• I want to note that after Rick Porcello, there is a noticeable tier drop starting with Chris Archer and it gets real hazy real fast. It’s why someone like Marco Gonzales can drop 19 spots so quickly. It’s not that he’s actually all too different, it’s that his previous spot wasn’t so good in actuality given how close everything was.
• I’m sure all of you are sick and tired of #Dodgeritis like I am with Ross Stripling and Kenta Maeda demoted to the bullpen. I have to think Stripling and/or Maeda return to the rotation in two-three weeks – when have you ever heard of a Dodgers rotation being stable – so I left them on as stashes as they are both Top 40 starters with locked rotation spots.
• I’m not liking how Andrew Heaney has suddenly stopped inducing whiffs once again. I’m hoping he can return to it, but this has been an over-arching problem for a little bit. Focus on his changeup during this two-start week.
• Lance Lynn has impressed mightily as a member of the Yankee rotation with a decent schedule ahead as well. I don’t expect his glistening K/BB to continue, but he’s definitely worth the roster spot these days.
• I’m amazed to find myself adding Tyler Glasnow, but with his current hot streak as a starter for the Rays – and very few exciting options out there – he returns with a relatively high rank.
• Plenty of starters joined The List this week. Edwin Jackson and Ryan Borucki get an add despite their current runs looking plenty unsustainable. Jacob Nix gets a spot after a solid debut, while Touki Toussaint gets an add, though he will probably be sent down to the minors after today’s spot start. Sean Rein-Foley makes his debut tonight against the Royals and could stick around after, Anthony DeSclafani returns as his slider has recently been much improved, Sam Gaviligo changed his mix in his last start to feature more breaking balls and it could stick, Reynaldo Lopez returns after a promising outing against the Yankees, and Pablo Lopez is showing a repertoire that could return form into a successful approach.
