Welcome to The List – The weekly top 100 rankings of starting pitchers in fantasy baseball for the rest of the season. Use this list to help make choices on the waiver wire and as a tool to gauge trade value in your fantasy leagues. These rankings are made with 5×5 H2H standard 12-team leagues in mind.

Let’s talk about how the SP landscape has changed since last week:

• Here are this week’s relevant injuries: Blake Snell is out until this weekend, Stephen Strasburg’s timetable is still super confusing and take his spot with a grain of salt, Ross Stripling hit the DL with a toe injury in an act of Dodgeritis, and Noah Syndergaard is supposed to return on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Yu Darvish, Michael Fulmer, and Eduardo Rodriguez are still off The List completely as their timetables are questionable and they are not Top 20 assets.
• As expected, Nick Pivetta, Nick Kingham, Dylan Bundy, and Shane Bieber all fell as they haven’t performed up to standards. They all carry heavy upside, but with their recent lack of execution, each needed their floors emphasized a bit more.
• This week, past around the mid-60s is where I begin to throw up my hands in “I guess this guy could turn into something.” Please understand why there are so many shifts in the bottom third of The List – the SP Landscape is frustrating this year. Not nearly as many intriguing upside plays and plenty of shrugs fill wires these days. I can’t tell you why the crop of starters isn’t nearly as exciting as years past, but I can sure tell you it is.
• With Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija on the DL, Derek Holland has a comfortable spot in the rotation, earning him a spot on The List given his recent changes.
• German Marquez has earned a spot back on The List after five straight double-digit whiff marks. I wanted to add him last week, but a 5 spot didn’t help his case. After a solid outing last night, he’s added enough trust for a possible stream moving forward.
• Clay Buchholz, Junior Guerra, and Drew Pomeranz have returned from injury and deserve spots once again.
• I’ve moved up Kyle Freeland, though I still lack the faith that he can maintain a sub 4.00 ERA the rest of the way, which gets amplified by his low strikeout rate.
• Tanner Roark got upset and threw a double-digit strikeout game, giving me no choice but to bring him back.
• Despite not having a strong performance against the Rays, I still would consider Yonny Chirinos as a possible streamer moving forward as he returned from his minor league and DL stints.
• Leaving The List were Daniel Poncedeleon and Austin Bomber (didn’t last in the Cards rotation), John Gant (still has a spot but hasn’t been worth your attention), Johnny Cueto (Injury), Reynaldo Lopez, James Shields, Pablo Lopez, and Tyson Ross (flat out bad).
