Welcome to The List – The weekly top 100 rankings of starting pitchers in fantasy baseball for the rest of the season. Use this list to help make choices on the waiver wire and as a tool to gauge trade value in your fantasy leagues. These rankings are made with 5×5 H2H standard 12-team leagues in mind.

Let’s talk about how the SP landscape has changed since last week:

• While we’ve only had three days (and change) of games, a surprisingly large amount has happened since last week’s edition.
• I’m struggling with injured players again. Blake Snell is on the DL with shoulder fatigue, but it looks like he’s missing just one start. Meanwhile, Noah Syndergaard is battling Hand Foot and Mouth Disease and it may be just one start or maybe a few more. Carlos Martinez was getting a demotion to around #30 before his oblique injury, and we don’t know how long he’ll be out for. Meanwhile, Yu Darvish, Michael Fulmer, and Eduardo Rodriguez have been removed from The List completely as their timetables are questionable and they are not Top 20 assets.
• I have to mention that from around #65 to the end is one giant sea of shrugs. Seriously, there was some movement here but there is not a wild difference between chasing Tyson Ross versus Frankie Montas and Tyler Mahle. If you feel strongly about the small ranks here, go with your gut.
• Madison Bumgarner and Lance McCullers each took decent drops this week. Bumgarner isn’t presenting the same strikeout upside as his vintage self, with a heavily lacking fastball. McCullers could be hitting a wall with 11 ER allowed in his last two starts – he’s at 20 starts now while never eclipsing 22 in an MLB season prior.
• I’m wondering if Trevor Cahill and his fantastic changeup can be a difference maker in your 12-teamer, along with Dereck Rodriguez who has displayed a well-balanced repertoire.
• Pablo Lopez is an intriguing upside play in Miami, granting him a spot on The List this week. I don’t buy that his fastball is consistent enough to demand a roster spot, but you could do worse on the wire.
• Matt Harvey and Zack Godley each take a tumble as their floors are rearing their ugly heads.
• The Cardinals rotation is wild right now, with Luke Weaver leaving The List given his demotion. It’s possible he returns soon, but in the meantime, the trio of John Gant, Daniel Poncedeleon, and Austin Gomber each present their own intriguing upside that makes me consider them. If Gomber sticks after being stretched out, there could be value come September. Poncedeleon makes his MLB debut tonight, and Gant’s split-change turns him into a possible streaming option.
• Jordan Zimmermann was slotted at the end last week after not carrying the upside he displayed in his previous two starts and was the obvious arm to boot first.
