It’s been another exciting week of baseball with many excellent pitches from around the league. You’ve been voting all week, now the top pitches battle for the crown of “Pitching GIF of the Week”. Who will win? Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Jake Arrieta’s Slider – Call it a Slider (like Brooks Baseball does), call it Cutter, call it a Slutter if you like, at the end of the day this is just pure filth at 91 MPH. Freddie Freeman sees decent heat hitting the inside corner and gears up to swing before the pitch darts into his hip and into his blind spot. No wonder Arrieta went six innings of shutout ball.

Raisel Iglesias‘ Fastball – Iglesias’ comeback Fastball has been featured here before, and it’s hard to turn it away as it rides from the opposite batter’s box well across the plate.

Sergio Romo’s Slider – Romo has always had a fun Frisbee slider, and he made Peter Bourjos head back to the dugout on this classic pitch. It’s hard not to enjoy Sergio’s joy afterward.

Chris Archer’s Fastball – After coming with an 87 MPH Changeup, Archer dialed it up to 97 MPH to blow it by Luis Valbuena for the strikeout. Sometimes you just want to see a pitcher conquer with pure strength.

Michael Wacha’s Cutter – It was another night of prime Wacha on Monday, and his Cutter was darting all over the plate. It’s nearly a Slider with how much horizontal ride it gets against Hunter Pence at a blistering 90 MPH.

Dellin Betances‘ Knuckle-Curve – We could have chosen a few pitches from this appearance from the lanky Yankee reliever, but we couldn’t resist how badly Eddie Rosario missed this hook. (Thanks to Reddit user Savage9645 for the tip!)

Chris Sale’s Slider – This seems to be a recurring theme for Sale’s dominance, but as he fanned 15 batters across seven innings, he struck out Chris Denorfia with a literal back-foot Slider, as Denorfia swung through this slide piece that hit his foot. Sale is just that good.
