Sit/Start Week 1.5: Reviewing All Starting Pitcher Matchups From 4/2 – 4/8

Here's a giant table of every starting pitcher matchup this week, telling you which pitchers should get in your lineup or stick on your bench.

Every Sunday here at Pitcher List, I review all expected starting pitcher matchups for the week ahead. There are three labels: StartMaybe, and Sit. Outings marked with a Maybe are circumstantial and dependent on your needs in a 12-teamer, while the other two are self-explanatory. Feel free to question my designations in the comments and we’ll dive into it together.

Here’s the massive table containing every Week 1.5 start from 4/2 – 4/8:

    why sit chatwood?

    • Nick Pollack says:

Because I think he’ll do more harm than good in a 12-teamer.

    • Chris says:

A lot of people in the industry are high on Chatwood, but Nick doesn’t have him in his top 100. I tend to think he at least has the upside to be a top 50 option, but he didn’t really do anything to merit a jump in the ranks besides leaving Coors. I’d be more excited to have him on my roster than to start him this week.

  2. Penny says:

14 team h2h categories league with kd9. I’m ahead in ratios, behind in wins and ks. I had thought to start Roark tomorrow at home against ATL, but your ‘maybe’ has me shook. What was your thought to list him that way?

  3. Bob Babooey says:

Aren’t you PREviewing the upcoming starts? Or have you been to the future?

  4. Nick D says:

Hey Nick, with the new site tables are not viewable on mobile. I’m specifically in Chrome on an Android phone. I noticed the same for the injury report article. For this article it’s cut off at the home pitcher column – I can only see “Ho” and nothing to the right. Same for all rows. For example, I only see “Taij” in the first row. And I cannot scroll to the right.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  5. Scooby Doo says:

Rotate the screen so its horizontal, not vertical.

  6. pc says:

Tempted to sit Lance Lynn vs Pirates. Was that a close call for you?

    • Nick Pollack says:

I think that has a decent floor. I’m not scared of the Pirates and Lynn isn’t prone to blowups.

  7. Buge Hoobies says:

Need advice on a Weekly Locked Roto Lineup…do I bench any of my current SP for any of my Bench 2 Start Pitchers this week? Starters: Berrios, Rich Hill, C. Martinez, Luke Weaver – Bench 2 start pitchers Taillon and Roark.

  8. J.C. Mosier says:

Can you add “SIT OR START” and “SP STREAMERS” to the “ARTICLES” menu? Thanks!

  9. Neal says:

Tyler Anderson has fantastic #s vs. the Padres but he’s listed as a sit? And here’s another Pitcherlist writer saying to stream him. You guys should get on the same page…

    • Nick Pollack says:

Well, there are a lot of voices at this site nowadays and I think it’s good that we have different opinions. After all, fantasy baseball wouldn’t be what it is without its lively debate and massive fluctuations through the year.

Not every article on the site is going to feel the same way. I encourage that, and it’s up to you to decide which arguments you believe in for your teams.

Regarding the actual start in question, I don’t think quoting Anderson’s numbers against the Padres is enough to overlook that he’s a very mediocre pitcher and a high risk for a detrimental outing.

  10. delamitri says:

Is Faria still a start having been changed to the 7th with Porcello on the other side?

    • Nick Pollack says:

      That makes it better!

Okay fine, not actually better, but it’s pretty much that same from Velazquez.

      • delamitri says:

Awesome, and thank you. Been following your sit and start since last year and you helped me HUGE in fantasy. I feel like I struck gold!
