The first bout of pitches comes from Corey Kluberwho set a Pitcher List record by winning the GIF of the Week contest four times across the fourteen weeks in the first half. Three of those victories came from his Slider, prompting a rigorous debate among the staff to decide which offering should Kluber’s elite breaking ball. The winner was this excellent pitch to Caleb Joseph that started over the plate as a clear strike before changing direction in a hurry to fall down and out of the zone. Often called Kluber’s best pitch, he’ll have to prove it today as the slide piece is squared off against a Fastball that has a life of its own. This pitch darted from seemingly off the plate inside to nearly in the opposite batter’s box at an impressive 93mph. You’ll be hard pressed to find another Fastball with this much lateral movement.

  1. I love that slider, but IMO the most beautiful pitch in baseball is a fastball that moves like this one does. fastball takes it for me

  2. Suk says:

the fastball had more movement than the breaking ball

  3. TestaSKULLS says:

The slider has such a late break. Looks perfect, then dives away and down. Tough to lay off, impossible to hit.
