Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Congrats to Chris Sale’s Slider for winning GIF of the Week!  It was a no-brainer this week as Mark Trumbo whiffed as the bender hit him in the knee.

Rick Porcello’s Fastball – Porcello has been a major surprise in 2016 as he carried over his successful 2015 second half into the new year.  He’s getting great movement with his Fastball, evidenced by this luscious front-door Fastball to Brian McCann(Thanks to @brorzor and Redditor ajwhite98 for the tip!)

Aaron Nola’s Curveball – It has been an excellent spring for Nola, who continues to roll as the ace of the Phillies staff.  His Curveball is a big reason for his success and he used it to freeze Justin Bour with this beauty that nipped the outside corner.

Josh Phegley’s Fastball – It’s always fun watching position players take a stab at performing on the hill, and it’s even more fun when said player strikes out Adam Jones with a high heater.  Sign him up!

Mike Foltynewicz’s Fastball – Foltynewicz has always been a player filled with high potential but questionable execution.  He flexed his muscles Sunday versus the Diamondbacks, setting the tone early with this blazing heater with sweet ride to tie up Brandon Drury

Jake Arrieta’s Slider – We feature a bunch of Arrieta in these roundups and I’ve yet to hear a good reason not to when he’s throwing absurd Sliders like this one to Ben Revere.  This pitch starts in the middle of the plate before diving near Revere’s ankles at 91 MPH.  Unreal.

Tanner Roark’s Fastball – Roark has been cruising lately and put in good work against the Cubs on their home turf.  His Fastball has been working well for him, exhibited by this horizontal break across the entire plate to fan Jorge Soler in the sixth.
