Every weekend here at Pitcher List, I review all expected starting pitcher matchups for the week ahead. There are three labels: StartMaybe, and Sit. Outings marked with a Maybe are circumstantial and dependent on your needs in a 12-teamer, while the other two are self-explanatory. Feel free to question my designations in the comments and we’ll dive into it together.

Note: This week will see trades at the deadline that will change some rotations. Keep this in mind as this table will not be updated through the week.

Here’s the massive table containing every Week 18 start from 7/31 – 8/6:

    Gausman a maybe???

    • Nick Pollack says:

Against a JD-less Tiger offense? Yep. He’s feeling it right now, First Pitch Strike % is above 70% and he’s finally throwing more Splitters again.

Unless of course you thought he deserved a “start” label.

is lester moved up to tuesday?

    • Nick Pollack says:

I see Wednesday, am I missing something?

Jon Lester’s next start has been moved up to Tuesday.
Lester had been slated to pitch Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, but instead he’ll get the ball for Tuesday’s series opener. With Chicago off on Monday, he’ll be pitching on normal rest. The Cubs moved Lester up a day so he could attend his uncle’s funeral on Wednesday. It’s possible the Cubs could place Lester on the bereavement list to get an extra roster spot, though obviously he won’t be missing any starts. Jul 29 – 7:10 PM

i wonder if he could start twice this week

        • Nick Pollack says:

          Thanks! Didn’t see that.

Definitely would be a two-start pitcher next week who I’d be starting in all leagues.

  3. Jeremy says:

Surprised to see McCullers still getting some love here. Is he nearing droppable status?? I’d almost venture to say that from a waiver availability standpoint that I’d prefer the likes of Foltynewicz or even as far as Suter or Bridwell at this point *hot take?” ?

    No Luke Eraser eh?

  5. Chucky says:

No fear of Nola’s 2nd start of the week in Coors? The road numbers aren’t as good as his home numbers for sure. Add the Coors factor and, well you know the rest. Still double starting him if you had single start options Vargas @ Balt? Wacha & Weaver @ Milw and your boy Castillo v StL?

  6. Justin says:

Reynaldo Lopez for MN? Is that just the wrong player in there? I am hoping he gets called up this week but wasn’t really expecting it for another team.

    • Nick Pollack says:

That’s 100% a typo, sorry about that! Thanks for the heads up.

Gonna to be replaced with either Kyle Gibson, Nik Turley, or Dillon Gee. Your guess is as good as mine, but they are all Sits.

  7. Matt says:

Taillon’s been roughed up lately, but you’ve got him as a Start both times. Not saying I disagree, I think he’s had tough luck, but how far do you think he’ll fall in your list this week?

  8. Jeremy says:

Should Manaea be trusted for Sunday’s start @LAA? Angels OPS top 5 past 7 days but they’re absolute last for the season vs lefties.

    • Nick Pollack says:

      Angels faced…

Valdez, struggled vs Nola (did well against bullpen), Jake Thompson, Eickhoff (3ER over 6 IP), Jharel Cotton.

No way I’m sitting Manaea because of that.
