We’ve been adding a bunch of content this year at Pitcher List and one of the most commonly requested features for 2017 was a weekly Sit/Start article that reviews all expected starting pitcher matchups. Starting today, I’ll be doing just that and reviewing each expected start for the week ahead. There are three labels: Start, Maybe, and Sit. Outings marked with a Maybe are circumstantial and dependent on your needs in a 12-teamer, while the other two are self-explanatory. Feel free to question my designations in the comments and we’ll dive into it together.

This is great! What would also be helpful is maybe if you could assign a confidence index to each pitcher? Like 1 being no confidence, to 10 being 100% in. Also would you rather start mike leake this week or put in hector neris? Very deep, Weekly league
I’d roll with Leake over Neris given his Cincy start in a deep league where Wins are tougher to find.
I gave it a good amount thought to how many levels I should include in these and I came to the conclusion that with so many variables at play for every start, the fewer the thresholds the better.
For the specific circumstances – just likes yours here – discussing in the comments is a much better approach.

If you ever are intrigued, I think a lot of readers would love to hear your feedback on a few blurbs regarding hottest FA pitcher matchups of the week for streaming, stud pitchers that may be shaky, sneaky sleeper matchups.
Just an idea, I know people eat that stuff up in fantasy football. Any more info would be great, maybe incorporating it into the podcast first.

Karns a definite Sit? Was just comparing the matchups to Cockcroft’s forecaster and see he has him ranked 38th this week. Wondering what he sees in that matchup to rank it so high?
Joe Ross was optioned to Triple-A. Does this mean he won’t pitch Sunday (4/9)? I assume this might have something to do with needing the space due to Rendon’s injury. Just want to be sure before I update my Weekly-Monday roster. My other options are Moore, Garrett Richards, Bundy and Cotton.
The Nats don’t need him until April 9th, so they’re keeping him down until then. I still expect him to make the start.
Nevertheless, I’d go Richards instead.
Thanks for the advice, I just updated with Richards for the week. I was borderline on those 2, but was leaning on Ross because I was worried about Richards ability to go long in game coming back from that injury (pitch count).
