Relievers to Stream for Wins and Saves – 7/25

Which relievers may be in line to vulture a save or win today?

Welcome to one of our many new features this season: the Daily Bullpen Chart. This will bring you up-to-date bullpen depth charts every morning for that day’s games and makes for a great tool for those of you looking to stream saves or wins. This year, I’d expect even more save and win vultures as team’s adapt to the condensed season so be sure to check in with us every morning.

NOTES

  • Of the closers we saw yesterday, two (Liam Hendriks and Jose Leclerc) threw more than 20 pitches. Two more (Edwin Diaz and Brandon Kintzler) threw fewer than 15.
  • It’s expected that Max Fried will be on some kind of pitch count this afternoon. While the exact number isn’t known publicly, it’s a risky move to expect him to go 5+ IP. Josh Tomlin, Touki Toussaint, and Luke Jackson could all be in the running for a sneaky win.
  • Julio Urias may also be watched closely in the early going. If he does go less than five, any number of Dodgers relievers could swoop in as they did Thursday night. Caleb Ferguson was the pitcher who would have been in line for the win had the Dodgers taken the lead in innings 1-4 Thursday night. Adam Kolarek ended up taking the win, and both are likely available due to their low pitch counts Thursday. Joe Kelly also hasn’t seen action yet and is likely in line for middle innings work tonight.
Bullpen Depth Charts
Green = closer is available/long reliever expected to pitch after starter
Yellow = closer pitched previous day/LR has chance to pitch after starter
Red = closer has pitched back to back days and likely has the day off

This is great content. Might seem tricky to be actionable since my add/drops for today need to be in by 3am. Any chance this article could be posted after a night’s slate for the next day? Would be much more valuable.
