Ranking All of Today’s And Tomorrow’s SP Matchups – 9/21 & 9/22

Nick Pollack ranks every starting pitcher matchup for today's and tomorrow's games.

Here are your morning rankings for today’s starting pitcher options.

It’s not perfect and will be far from the actual results at the end of the day, though it should give guidance for those questioning who to slot into your lineup on a given day.

There is a second table for tomorrow’s starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.

Pitchers highlighted in yellow = Possible streaming options.

FS = False Starter where there is an assumed opener actually starting the game.

Red = Postponed.

  1. Lefty Nation says:

Baseball Savant has Luke Weaver instead of Gallen today and tomorrow its says Robbie Ray for the D-Backs. Would you go with Weaver or is there a better upside play today or tomorrow that you would suggest?

    • Lefty Nation says:

I was ready to pull the trigger for Gallen but I saw the Weaver thing…

    • Nick Pollack says:

Was in the middle of updating it as I saw your comment. The Diamondbacks announced Weaver is returning to replace Gallen today.

It’s a major DLH for Weaver – we don’t even know how many pitches he’s throwing. I’d hold off.

  2. Frankie says:

Sheffield today. Voth tomorrow. As wrong as it feels to say this, I feel my season comes down to these two streamers. THIS is why we love baseball.

  3. Dan says:

Matz is starting for Mets Sunday. Where does he fit in?

    • Nick Pollack says:

The latest I saw was Matz was pushed back to Monday, Stroman is going on Sunday now.

If Matz is still going Sunday, he’s right where Stroman is.

  4. Shawn says:

Which two do you think are the best options for Ks tomorrow between Voth, Lopez, Richards, Means, and Woodruff?

  5. Lefty Nation says:

Best bet to get a win: Plesac, nova, Voth, Roark, or Rey-Lo?

  6. PitcherList Superfan says:

    Hey Nick,

I’m in the finals currently and going to lose both ERA and WHIP, but will likely win SO. Who is the best option on Sunday for K’s? I’m guessing Boyd with his 11.6 K/9?

    Thanks brother!
