Here are your morning rankings for today’s starting pitcher options.
It’s not perfect and will be far from the actual results at the end of the day, though it should give guidance for those questioning who to slot into your lineup on a given day.
Note: I’ve made a change moving forward to this daily article. I’ll now be including a second table for tomorrow’s starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.
Pitchers highlighted in yellow = Possible streaming options.
FS = False Starter where there is an assumed opener actually starting the game.
Red = Postponed.

Big gap between Godley @ PIT today and Weaver @ PIT tomorrow
Yep, I trust Weaver a lot more than Godley.
Adrian Houser going against STL today. Impressive numbers at AAA so far. Thoughts on a stream today?
I’m curious about him too. Picked him up. Haven’t decided whether to use him though, just yet.
Thanks for the edit!
I wouldn’t stream. He’s done well in three starts thus far, but has a history of sub 10% whiff rates in the minors. It seems way too risky against the Cardinals.
More Harvey!
Where would Flaherty and Houser slot into today’s rank, had they not been omitted? MIL@STL
Nvm. Already fixed. Love these guys!
How about Hellickson vs. @COL today?
Flaherty has been smoked by MIL twice now. You seem to have a ton of faith he will be fine today. Was gonna sit him but now you have me questioning myself! Confident he will right himself today?
Hey Nick. I have a trade offer where I get Nola in return for Glasnow and Clint Frazier. I’m leery about Nola and don’t think he’s right. His strand rate is low and BABIP a little high, but HR/9; BB/9, hard hit balls, FIP; xFIP; SIERRA; swinging strike %; K-BB% don’t look good and are all down. Is he a top 10 SP? Are you concerned about him and would you pull the trigger on this deal?
I wouldn’t make that deal.
Numbers are going to look meh for Nola now because he’s not pitching well.
Don’t bank on luck, bank on Nola improving.
You post is confusing…you WOULD trade Glasnow for Nola or WOULD NOT?
Oh, I’m sorry! I want the Nola side of the deal.
Thanks, Nick! Appreciate the advice.
Any reason Homer Bailey is so low?
Because, he’s Homer Bailey
Hey Nick long time follower. Wanted to pick your brain. Would you part ways with Chris Sale this early in the year for the right price? I know you mentioned getting rid of the headcase in itself would be a reward but I cant seem to pull the trigger on a deal. Would Kershaw and, a slightly above average bat, say Yuli Gurriel be enough for you to move Sale? Kershaw is almost guaranteed another IL stint and perhaps only 140 innings.
I’d try to get a little more than Yuli, but I’d 100% fine moving Sale for a solid floor in return.
FWIW, I’ll have Sale one spot higher than Kershaw on today’s List.
