Here are your morning rankings for today’s starting pitcher options.
It’s not perfect and will be far from the actual results at the end of the day, though it should give guidance for those questioning who to slot into your lineup on a given day.
Note: I’ve made a change moving forward to this daily article. I’ll now be including a second table for tomorrow’s starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.
Pitchers highlighted in yellow = Possible streaming options.
FS = False Starter where there is an assumed opener actually starting the game.
Red = Postponed.

I think it’s Chirinos going as the bulk guy for TB tonight. I’m not so sure about that though
I think it’s still the Fratty Pirate (Yarbrough) today.
Nick, I just discovered this site a few weeks ago. Love it! With Stanek/Yarbrough, today, Snell tomorrow, and Morton Sunday, it appears Chirinos will miss his turn in the rotation. Do you have any insight or thoughts on the subject (maybe he will be used in long relief like Beeks, at least for this turn in the rotation)? Thanks
ESPN has Newcomb today and Tehran tomorrow with Wright out of sight, while MLB.com has Wright today and Newcomb tomorrow. How confident are you in your order? Just picked up Kyle Wright… hope he’s going.
I’m seeing a lot Kyle Wright tonight, wouldn’t say I’m incredibly confident – it’s never going to be correct! – but I wouldn’t change it.
Watch out for Thornton against the Rays tonight. His CB is his best weapon and the Rays rank 2nd against hitting the CB since the beginning of last year. His next start at MIN could yield much better results.
Odds Caleb Smith provides a QS tomorrow?
Decent? Not the best option for a QS given his often deep counts.
Is Michael Pineda getting skipped due to the postponed game?
It looked like they were skipping him before, now it seems they are in fact pushing the entire rotation back a day and Pineda is starting tomorrow.
Thanks for that! I’ve updated the table.
Would you start C. Smith vs Phil?
How about VV @ MI Sunday?
How about D. Holland vs Colo Sunday?
Thanks
Smith yes, VV no, Holland yes.
I’ve been wondering who gets that Dodgers start on Saturday, they will have to open a 40 man spot unless they make it a bullpen game. From what I can tell, Tony Gonsolin has only started once this season for OKC and could be the guy based on Roberts’ trust in him in spring training.
