In a small sample size Bolanos’ changeup was his least used pitch but featured good velocity seperation. It also had elite spin-rates for a changeup and could have the potential to be a much better pitch.
A loopy curveball that gets a ton of horizontal movement, Bolanos used it as his primary secondary pitch. It had good swinging-strike numbers and because of the small-sample was hit hard, so with more time could feature better numbers.
Bolanos is able to reach back and hit 99 mph when he needs to with his fastball, but generally sits 93-95 mph. It’s fairly straight and thanks to this generates a lot of contact against (88% contact rate).
Bolanos’ slider was infrequently used but was above-average in horizontal movement. He gave up a .477 wOBA on the pitch thanks to a 75% flyball rate, but it was a small-sample size.
