Morin’s changeup came in an insane 18 mph slower than his fastball. The pitch qualified as a Money Pitch and allowed a paltry 15 wRC+.
Morin threw a sinker and a four-seamer in 2019. The four-seamer got a nice 14.9% SwStr%, but both pitches allowed a batting average above .300.
Morin’s slider saw a career-low 3.8% K rate, thanks to a 9.3% SwStr% and 32.1% O-Swing rate, also career lows.
In Morin’s brief stint in the majors, he showed a small jump velocity on his fastball. This increase did not translate to success as he allowed most pitches to be put in play for hits.
Morin used his changeup most frequently in his few appearances being his most successful pitch. With a 23.8% whiff rate, it was his go-to pitch for many circumstances striking out a good amount of batters.
Morin picked up velocity on his slider as well. This harder slider go a few outs yet none on the ground.
