Just a complimentary piece of Trivino’s arsenal, the curveball didn’t show great bat missing ability with a modest 10.1% swinging K rate. It hit the zone 34.3% of the time and earned an unexciting 21.5% chase rate. The batted ball results though were stellar including a .053 xwOBA and .048 batting average.
Trivino’s fastball features electric velocity sitting at 97.4 mph. Despite the premium velocity it didn’t get too many swings and misses with just a 7.4% swinging K rate.
Averaging 92.9 mph, Trivino’s cutter was lethal and returned a 20.5% swinging K rate (42.2% whiffs), 46% zone rate, and a 39.1% chase rate. A money pitch and one of the best cutters in the game, it held batters to a .260 batting average and .246 xwOBA.
