Corey Knebel

While his fastball regressed from his breakout 2017, Knebel still had all the things you want from your main offering: almost 50% ground balls and lots of swings and misses. A 23% HR/FB rate seems unlucky at first, but he did allow a ton of hard and medium contact, so home runs are still expected.

Knebel’s bread and butter, his knuckle curve added 3.1 inches of drop in 2018, helping make his elite curveball even better. Batters know it’s coming and still strike out almost half the time on the pitch.
