Miller’s slider bounced back after a mediocre 2018 but it will probably never return to his elite days. It saw for the 2nd year in a row the O-Swing % and swinging-strike rate drop so we may be in the final years of Millers bomb-tastic slider.

Miller’s slider was his most-used pitch in 2018, but it notably generated fewer ground balls and fewer swings and misses in 2018 when compared with prior years, which may be injury-related.The result was a .268 batting average against and a .468 slugging percentage against. A 55.9% ground-ball rate for the pitch helped him manage contact, and the result was a .229 batting average against and .333 slugging percentage.
