Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Patrick Corbin’s Slider – After a tough outing against the Padres, Corbin rebounded in a big way against the Rockies, going 6.2 innings strong with seven strikeouts. His Slider was on point like we’ve seen in the second half, throwing a beauty to Pat Valaika to end the fifth frame.

Aaron Nola’s Curveball – There were concerns that Nola would struggle once again as he faced the Marlins, but he quelled those fears with an 11 strikeout performance. The famous deuce scored 11 whiffs over the 30+ thrown, including making future hall-of-famer Ichiro Suzuki spin in the box trying to hit this hook.

Kevin Gausman’s Splitter – Gausman was feeling it against the Jays and spun seven innings of 1 ER ball in Toronto. The pitch we look at for his success is his Splitter, and this pitch to Justin Smoak should tell you everything.

Max Scherzer’s Slider – It was a ridiculous seventh inning for Scherzer, walking four total batters (one intentional) as he allowed 6 ER against the Braves. Still, his slide piece messed up plenty of hitters per usual, including Matt Kemp with a bender that featured absurd late bite off the plate. (Thanks to  for the tip!)

Tyler Skaggs‘ Curveball – 2017 has been a tumultuous season for Skaggs, but he was as good as you’ll see him as the Angels hosted the Astros Wednesday evening. Check out his beautiful Curveball that was making lives difficult for plenty, especially this breaker off the outside corner that Derek Fisher just couldn’t resist.

Yu Darvish’s Slider – Some were getting restless with Darvish’s performances as a Dodger, but he certainly pleased fans with seven shutout innings against the Giants. It’s hard to mention Darvish without bringing up his Slider and this one in particular to Ryder Jones was as filthy as you’ll see.
