So I just had to comment on the FIP vs xFIP thing even though I know you don’t prefer either of them over other stats. FIP is the one you should never ever use. It is normalizing some things like LOB and BABIP which pitchers do have some control over while not normalizing HR which pitchers do have some control over. You either should normalize everything or nothing, not pick and choose things at random which is what FIP is really doing. xFIP has also been shown to be a lot more predictive of the future than FIP.
