  1. Shallow League Decisions says:

Hey Nick. Carrasco intends to play this year and claims he will be stretched out to go deeper in games when the season starts. What are Nick’s updated reluctant projections for him (K%, IP, ERA, WHIP) if he doesn’t back out and where would you rank him?

    • Nick Pollack says:

I don’t have updated projections for players, but I will say that if Carrasco is starting out of the gate for the Indians, I’d have him ranked around #20 or so. He’s a fantastic pitcher when he’s starting and I cannot express how much I want him to be healthy and safe.

  2. Let's Play Two says:

Would you rather have Corbin or Verlander this season and is there much of a difference in risk and ratios? Some team owners aren’t high on Verlander due to his lat and groin injuries and worried about re-injury.

    • Nick Pollack says:

I’d easily want Verlander over Corbin. He’s easily a better overall pitcher and his groin strain should be healed by now – treat the time off as more significant healing than normal as players weren’t rushing back and pushing themselves like they would in a normal season. Not that I dislike Corbin, but Verlander’s heater/slider combination is absolutely elite, let alone his solid curveball and changeup as well.
