Nick Pivetta’s Curveball – Pivetta threw six strong innings on Tuesday, fanning six. Here he used his knee-buckling curveball to get an embarrassing hack from Rafael Devers for strike three.

Rick Porcello’s Fastball – Pivetta may have looked good on Tuesday, but Porcello was better. He fanned 10 in a masterful seven innings of work for Boston. Here he willed his two-seamer over the plate and away from the mystified Asdrubal Cabrera.

Anibal Sanchez’s Splitter – The Tigers fan in me is fully aware how painful putting Porcello and Sanchez next to each other is (don’t worry, it will get worse Tigers fans). However, Sanchez’s nasty splitter in on the hands of J.T. Realmuto is deserving of a high spot on this list, even if his start was only average.

Justin Verlander’s Curveball – Three straight former Tigers today – yikes. Verlander fanned 11 in another outstanding outing for the Astros. Here he used his bender to get in on the hands of Gerardo Parra, who had no chance of making contact. Yowza.

Jhoulys Chacin’s Slider – Chacin had a wonderful start on Tuesday, fanning 10 in seven scoreless innings. He used an awkward slide step to get Kyle Schwarber off balance, and then finished him with a diving slider in the dirt. Nasty.

Lucas Giolito’s Curveball – Giolito survived a rough first inning to post a quality start against the Tigers on Tuesday (sorry to keep piling on Tigers fans). Here he used his sharp curveball to induce a big swing and a miss from James McCann for a much-needed strike three.

Corey Kluber’s Fastball – Aces gonna ace, and Kluber struck out seven in seven strong innings of work on Tuesday. He used his wicked two-seamer to his advantage all night long, here getting a confused half swing from April superstar Preston Tucker.
