Today’s Headlines
Little League Classic
One of the most eagerly-awaited events on the MLB calendar took place in Williamsport yesterday as the Baltimore Orioles downed the Boston Red Sox in the Little League Classic. The day started with a wonderful little tradition.

And the fireworks didn’t end there as the victory has brought the Orioles within 2.5 games of a wildcard spot, a remarkable achievement that has Baltimore baseball fans (and the rest of us) shocked with joy.

Jorge Mateo opened the game up with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the eighth. The former Yankees and Athletics prospect has found a home in Baltimore and is one of the young guns driving this unlikely Orioles offense forward.

There was also fun and games when the action on the field was taking a breather. Rock, paper, scissors anyone?

Women’s Day At Dodger Stadium
One of the most important days in baseball in L.A. saw one of baseball’s most important women throw out a ceremonial first pitch and make an appearance in the Dodgers’ broadcast booth. Maybelle Blair, a former professional baseball player in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, was one of the inspirations for the baseball classic movie and its TV adaptation, A League of Their Own. She provided some wonderful insights in her time on the broadcast.
The great Maybelle Blair is looking to establish a Women’s Baseball Center which will have a museum and a ball field to host a yearly girls’ little league baseball World Series tournament. She is so full of pep and personality! How awesome is Ms. Blair? pic.twitter.com/VHxa3UhAKl

It was a beautiful day for baseball and let us all get behind the idea of a Women’s Baseball Center.

Best Moments From Yesterday
Ha-Seong The Brave
No walls can stop Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim making plays. This has to hurt, however in the post-match press conference Kim said, “I have six-pack so it was ok.” Epic!
Ha-Seong Kim is turning into a fan favorite in San Diego. Love it.

Injuries
Bad news for Red Sox fans, manager Alex Cora stated that Nathan Eovaldi isn’t progressing as quickly as the club hoped, and it’s unclear when he will take his next turn in the rotation. Eovaldi was supposed to take the mound on Tuesday.
Angels (and all baseball) fans were worried when Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani was removed from his start on Sunday against the Tigers. Luckily, it seems to just be a stomach bug. However, it clearly affected the MVP favorite as he allowed three runs on five hits over four innings, setting a season high with four walks and tying a season low with two strikeouts.
