Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the First Half. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Max Scherzer’s Fastball – Mad Max was at it again Monday night, tossing perfect 1st and 3rd innings en route to another double-digit strikeout performance. This 96 mph Fastball added Jason Heyward to Scherzer’s list of 11 Ks.

Jerad Eickhoff’s Curveball – Eickhoff kept the Blue Jays off the board for six innings Monday to earn the win. Once again his breaking stuff was nasty. This Curveball starts at Justin Smoak’s chest, then dips all the way down to his knees at the plate.

Carlos Carrasco’s Slider – Call it tough luck or maybe a trend, but Carrasco hasn’t recorded a win since coming off the DL in June. He’s still throwing some great stuff though, like this Slider that hugs Kendrys Morales all the way in.

Blake Wood’s Fastball – Cincinnati’s veteran Wood has thrived in multi-inning relief outings. He struck out three batters in two innings of work against the Braves, thanks in part to this painted 97 mph Fastball up and in on Freddie Freeman.

Ricky Nolasco’s Slider  – The Minnesota starter earned a quality start and a win against the Angels on Monday. This Slider kept its distance from Yunel Escobar, resulting in one of Nolasco’s five strikeouts on the night.
