Matt Bowman’s Fastball – Inside the Cardinals’ pen is Bowman, who has been a bit rocky following an excellent string of appearances to start 2017. Last night he showcased his lively heater though, getting Jett Bandy to whiff over this sweet Fastball for strike three.
Max Scherzer’s Slider – It was another dominating outing for Scherzer, fanning elevent Diamondbacks across seven frames of work. Our favorite punchout of the night was on this signature Scherzer slide piece that fell far away from Chris Iannetta’s bat.
Kyle Kendrick’s Fastball – Kendrick got the start for the Red Sox Thursday night as Steven Wright is done for the year. He wasn’t all too impressive, but he made this perfect 3-2 pitch to Adam Jones that snuck back and barely nipped the outside corner. Love the slow-motion shot here to see how the ball juuust hits the plate.
Keone Kela’s Curveball – Kela’s 4.15 ERA for the season leaves a lot to be desired, but he escaped a tough jam against the Astros by getting Carlos Beltran to swing through this Curveball that bent from one side to the another.
Matt Albers‘ Fastball – It’s hard to expect Albers making this roundup often, yet he was throwing some filth during the eighth inning against the Diamondbacks. Check out this Fastball that tails back to the plate to stun Chris Owings. (Thanks to Redditor MrBigShot247 for the tip!)
