Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the First Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Mark Melancon’s Cutter – While it wasn’t a save situation, Melancon got the call in the ninth for the Giants and he got the job done. His lone strikeout was against slugger Eric Thames as he spotted a Cutter perfectly on the outside corner to just nip the plate. It’s exactly what you want for an 0-2 pitch. (Thanks to for the tip!)

Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – The Giant Peach is good for some pretty Fastball GIFs as his heater gets a boatload of horizontal movement. Our favorite from Monday evening was this Two-Seamer that faded away from Michael Saunders‘ bat in the first inning.

Sean Manaea’s Slider – Manaea kept up his elite whiff tallies against the Blue Jays last night and collected seven strikeouts en route to an Oakland victory. His Slider gets plenty of those swings-and-misses and had a pretty offering to Kendrys Morales in the fifth as the pitch traveled across the entire plate.

Carlos Martinez’s Fastball – Martinez was cruising through six innings before a rough seventh brought his night to a close. The foundation of his repertoire is 95mph+ heat with great movement and he showcased it with this blistering pitch that Zack Cozart couldn’t handle.

Lisalverto Bonilla’s Curveball – Bonilla has been sent to the Reds’ pen after having struggles in the rotation to begin his MLB career, but his still has solid weapons in his arsenal. Take for example this Curveball that has a bunch of depth and struck out Aledmys Diaz in the seventh.

Jared Hughes‘ Fastball – Hughes isn’t a pitcher you may have heard of before, so here’s the low-down: He has a great sinker that can generate groundballs for Brewers’ pen, while missing bats along the way like this pitch to Orlando Calixte.
