Luis Severino’s Slider – Sevvy struck out seven Rays on Tuesday, giving him 220 on the year. Here he froze Ji-Man Choi with a backdoor slider at a cool 91 miles per hour. Yow.

Noah Syndergaard’s Changeup – Thor tossed six shutout innings on Tuesday. He got a huge whiff from Freddie Freeman on an explosive changeup that ran down on the outside half. Nasty.

Trevor Bauer’s Curveball – Thor may be the one with the hammer, but Bauer brought the house down with this knee-buckling curveball to Leury Garcia. He only tossed four innings, but he fanned four with two earned runs.

Max Scherzer’s Slider – Scherzer fanned 10 on Tuesday, helping him surpass the 300 strikeout mark for the first time in his career. This slider, like most of Scherzer’s offerings, was absolutely filthy – dropping Austin Dean to the ground like a sniper.

Josh James‘ Changeup – James has looked electric in the first few appearances. He struck out three in five innings of work, using this nasty changeup to get a big whiff from Yangervis Solarte.

Touki Toussaint’s Curveball – Toussaint’s big, nasty hook was on point on Tuesday, helping lead him to six strikeouts. His five walks are a concern, but that curveball will keep him a mainstay on these posts.

Chris Archer’s Slider – Archer had one of his first excellent games in a Pittsburgh, striking out nine in six scoreless innings. His slider was on point, getting an ugly half-swing from Kyle Schwarber.
