Jose Alvarado’s Cutter

Jose Alvarado has had a very good season thus far for the Rays, sporting a 3.20 ERA and a great 12.1 K/9, with 7 saves to his name, though he’s struggled with walks at times. Alvarado has been no stranger to these roundups this year, and should continue to frequent it.

Chris Stratton’s Slider

After a promising start to his career in San Francisco, Chris Stratton has been pretty awful since the start of 2018, worth a whopping -1.5 bWAR in that span. Stratton at the very least makes his way onto this roundup, albeit on a day with only 5 total games.

Tyler Mahle’s Splitter

Tyler Mahle has been solid if unexciting for the Reds this season, striking out a fair number though sporting a 4.36 ERA that has hovered in the low to mid 4’s most of the year. Monday’s games was a solid quality start for the young pitcher, as he allowed 3 ER while striking out 8 over 6 IP.

Sam Gaviglio’s Slider

Sam Gaviglio has not been particularly good for the Blue Jays this season, though he’s had quite a few gorgeous pitches land himself on the nasty pitch roundups this year.

Dovydas Neverauskus’ Curveball

Dovydas Neverauskus has been pretty awful for the Pirates this year, with his 8.59 ERA contributing to a career 6.34 mark. The pride of Lithuania has shown himself to be too good for the minors and outclassed in the majors, seemingly sliding into the dreaded AAAA designation.
