Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Jake Junis’ Slider – Junis’ rookie year has been up and down, but his last couple starts have shown his great potential. Junis’ best pitch is his Slider, and he got a bunch of swings and misses with it, including this swing from Steven Souza.

Chris Sale’s Slider – Sale made hitters look foolish trying to foul off his Slider to stay alive. This sharp one to Steve Pearce starts off the outside corner and ends up spotted perfectly down and in.

Dylan Bundy’s Changeup – Bundy had the best start of his career last night striking out 12 Mariners in the process of pitching a one hitter. Bundy had all his pitches moving well including this Changeup to Danny Valencia that the bottom drops out of.

German Marquez’s Curveball – Marquez has pitched well in Colorado this year, and his high homer rate might look better outside of Denver. This Curveball to Ian Kinsler has great depth and forces an ugly swing.

Luke Weaver’s Changeup – With today’s trade of Mike Leake to the Mariners, Weaver’s spot in the rotation has solidified. Weaver’s Changeup doesn’t have great movement, but it’s much slower and looks exactly the same as his Fastball when it comes out of his hand. Travis Shaw was geared up for the Fastball, and ends up hitting air.

Jake Arrieta’s Changeup – Arrieta is one of my favorite pitchers to GIF up because he gets extraordinary movement on all his pitches. In contrast to Weaver’s Changeup, Arrieta’s Change-piece barrels toward the ground drastically. David Freese was left flummoxed.

J.D. Davis‘ Slider – Before rosters expand on the first of the month teams are still apt to use a position player in a blowout to avoid taxing more important arms. Davis came on last night and broke off probably the best breaking ball I’ve seen from a true position player. Shin-Soo Choo seems shocked.
