Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the First Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Jacob deGrom’s Changeup – DeGrom hit a milestone for his career by registering his 500th strikeout during yesterday’s outing against the Phillies. He hit the mark with this excellent 0-2 offering to Michael Saunders, who could only wave over this knee high Changeup that darted down and away from him at the last second.

Trevor Rosenthal’s Fastball + Slider – Rosenthal looked good in his return from the DL last night, especially in this pitch sequence to Anthony Rendon. He first brings 100mph ched to the table with a high fastball and then freezes him with a Slider down and away. I think we all would have reacted like Rendon. (Thanks to Redditor efitz11 for the tip!)

Addison Reed’s Fastball – Reed is taking over the closer duties for the Mets while Jeurys Familia finishes up his suspension and he’s filled the role well out of the gate. His heater is particularly looking great, like this perfectly spotted heater at 93mph that froze Howie Kendrick to end the game.

Jharel Cotton’s Changeup – Cotton looked pretty all outing long, spinning 90mph Cutters and slinging mid 90s heat as well. The star of the show was his elite Changeup, though, and Cotton showcased it against Brandon Moss in the fifth inning that left us all starstruck. (Thanks to Redditor CoryGM for the tip!)

Adam Wainwright’s Curveballs – Wainright didn’t have his best stuff on Monday, but he got out of a tough jam relying on his signature pitch twice. First he made Jayson Werth look silly chasing this hook well out of the strikezone, and then followed it up with another Curveball to get Stephen Drew fishing to seal the frame.

    Rendon face is priceless

No Pineda? Those sliders and fastballs were FILTH!

Are you not doing the thing where you analyze the starts from the previous day anymore? AKA the actual point of this website?? Not finding much of a reason to come here anymore… some generic hitter rankings which you can find anywhere else and a 4 highlight gifs isn’t a substitute for *actual pitching performance analysis.*
