Welcome to this week’s Injury Report!
Juan Soto – Shoulder Strain
Juan Soto hit the IL earlier this past week with a shoulder strain. He has already resumed hitting off a tee, so I’m not concerned about this. He should come back in short order.
Return Date: Early May
Buy/Sell/Hold: Buy
Christian Yelich – Back Strain
Finally, some good news, Christian Yelich could return this week. At the very least, he should be back by the end of next week.
Return Date: Late April/Early May
Buy/Sell/Hold: Buy
Hyun-Jin Ryu – Glute Strain
Hyun-Jin Ryu left his latest start with a minor right glute strain. He may or may not hit the IL, but I wouldn’t think it’ll be longer than the minimum even if he does.
Return Date: Early May
Buy/Sell/Hold: Buy
Corey Knebel – Lat Strain
Corey Knebel was placed on the IL with a lat strain. He is expected to be out for an extended period of time.
Return Date: Late July
Buy/Sell/Hold: Sell
Dinelson Lamet – Forearm Tightness
Dinelson Lamet had a setback with his return. The word on the street is that he is dealing with forearm tightness. What is my rule for forearm tightness? That’s right, run. Early reports are that Lamet won’t have an MRI. He might return, but I’m not going to risk the roster spot for him. If you have him on your IL, keep holding, but I want nothing to do with this.
Return Date: All-Star Break, best case.
Buy/Sell/Hold: Sell
Carlos Carrasco – Hamstring Strain
The latest report is that Carlos Carrasco will return during the second week of May. Nailed it. He should be good to go once he returns.
Return Date: Early May
Buy/Sell/Hold: Buy
Adalberto Mondesí – Oblique Strain
Adalberto Mondesí has been on the IL all season. He still hasn’t started swinging, and I think he will be out for a while longer. The long timeline is a double edge sword. The longer he is out, he decreases the odds of re-injuring himself. So it’s frustrating that we aren’t getting updates, but for Mondesi’s season outlook, I’m ok with it.
Return Date: Mid June
Buy/Sell/Hold: Buy/Hold
Thanks for reading! As always, if there is someone else you have a question about, leave me a comment or find me on Twitter (@Jake_Rob17). I will get to them as I’m able to. Be sure to check back next week for the latest injury report!
