Welcome back to Hitter List. Every Wednesday during the regular season, I’ll rank the current value of the top 150 hitters for the remainder of the year. Use these rankings to help get a sense of both a player’s expected performance and his trade value in your fantasy leagues moving forward. They’re constructed with 12-team, H2H, 5×5 leagues in mind; adjust as needed for your specific setup. Position eligibility does factor in to a degree.
With so little time left in the season, adjustments to the List can and will be aggressive. In particular, injuries will take on added importance as even a minor health issue will cost a player a chunk of their remaining games. Rest assured that any rankings you vehemently disagree with were explicitly an attempt to insult you and/or your favorite player(s) personally. Seriously, before you work yourself into a rage in the comment section, understand that this is only one person’s opinion. I’m wrong a lot! Comes with the territory of doing this sort of thing.
On to the highlights!
- Injury roundup: Not much to report other than Gregory Polanco’s season being over due to a bone bruise in his left knee. It was an up-and-down season for the oft-injured outfielder, but ended up being arguably the most productive of his career to date. Notable recovery updates: Jose Abreu and Josh Donaldson have both returned to action, while Aaron Judge is finally swinging a bat.
- New to or back on the List this week: Tyler White, Dansby Swanson, Jason Kipnis, Luke Voit, and Kevin Kiermaier. I remain skeptical of White in the long term, but it’s hard to argue with his performance of late as he’s hit .326 with six home runs and a whopping 40 R+BI over the last 30 days. Swanson may never live up to the hype he generated as a rookie, but he’s been a legitimate five category contributor over the past month (.273-13-6-17-4). Kipnis has been red hot in the last two weeks, slashing .293/.362/.585 with three homers and 11 RBI. Back stiffness kept Voit out of action on Monday, but he was back in the lineup Tuesday night. He has seven homers in his last 16 games and four in his last 10. Finally, Kiermaier has missed the past couple of games with “general illness” but when he returns will look to extend a seven-game hitting streak that includes four multi-hit games and three homers.

He goes by Adalberto but his name is Raul Adalberto Mondesi, so that’s probably where it’s coming from.
Arenado is on fire. All you have to do is put that red number next to their name lol.
Why down on White? The guy has a history of strong offense and seems to have made pitch selection changes fueling the power spike
